Get ready for an exhilarating day of competition at the Sawtell Opens 100m Sprint, a thrilling event open to athletes of all ages. This community driven race is designed to bring together runners of every level to showcase their speed, sportsmanship, and passion for sprinting.

Event Details

• Date: 1st January 2026

• Time: Heats commence at 12:00 PM (see sprint timetable for details)

• Location: Sawtell Beach Holiday park

• Entry Fee: $15 per athlete, payable at registration

• Who Can Participate: Athletes of all ages (age determined as of New Year's Day)

Schedule

• 11:45 AM: Heat names posted on the noticeboard at the marshalling tent

• 11:50 AM: Athletes must be at the marshalling tent (10 minutes prior to race start)

• 12:00 PM: Heats begin

• Finals: Scheduled as per the sprint timetable

General Information

The Sawtell Opens 100m Sprint is a competitive and inclusive event encouraging athletes to push their limits and enjoy the thrill of the race. Here’s what you need to know:

• Check-In: Arrive at the marshalling tent 10 minutes before your scheduled heat.

• Age Eligibility: Determined by the athlete’s age on New Year's Day.

• Heat Assignments: Posted on the noticeboard at the marshalling tent from 11:45 AM.

• Sportsmanship: Judges’ decisions are final. Please demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.

• What to Bring: Running gear, appropriate footwear, a water bottle, and enthusiasm!

• Safety: Our team is committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Heats & Finals

• Heats: If insufficient numbers for multiple heats, a straight final will be run at the scheduled final time.

• No Semi-Finals: The event progresses directly from heats to finals.

• Finals Qualification:

  • Only six (6) places are available in the final.

  • Heat winners (up to six) automatically qualify for the final.

  • Remaining spots will be filled based on the fastest times from the heats.

  • In the unlikely event of more than six heats, the six fastest heat times will determine final positions.

• Timetable: Check the sprint timetable for specific heat and final times.
