Main things you need to know about Little Athletics…

Centro Toormina (near Kmart entrance) Sat 4 Sep – 9am to 11am

Park Beach Plaza (near Target) Sat 4 Sep – 1pm to 3pm

Centro Toormina (near Kmart entrance) Sat 11 Sep – 1pm to 3pm

• For children of all abilities aged to 5 to 17 (must be 5 to start, can start mid season)
• Age groups based on age as at 30/9/10 + one (ie born 6/8/2000 is Under 11)
• Please register at registration days not competition Thursdays
• Need to sight proof of age on new registration (ie birth cert, baby book etc)
• Costs $80 (1), $150 (2), $210 (3), $260 (4), $310 (5)
• Centre Singlets/Crop Tops $20 per athlete not compulsory unless competing at carnivals, but recommended for all.
• Athletes must wear their athlete number on front of uniform/Tshirt
• At least one parent/guardian must be in attendance at all times on competition Thursdays. Parent involvement crucial for running of Thursday competition
• Compete at Toormina Oval, Toormina Road on Thursdays
• Season commences 4.00pm Thursday 23 September, then after holidays 4.50pm start Thursday 14 October 10 through to 17 March 11 (3 week break Christmas/New Year). Presentation day 24 March 11.
• Great social environment for kids and parents. Everyone competes at the same time.
• Focus is on Personal Bests not winning
• Athletes have the opportunity to compete at Zone (Nambucca Dec 10), Region (Newcastle Feb 2011) and State Championships (Homebush Mar 2011) if desired.
• All events available ie sprints, middle distance, hurdles, throws, walks and jumps
• Doesn’t matter if you can’t come every week
• One off cost, no weekly fees.
• Athletics is great foundation to build skills for other sports
• Graded competition in sprints for ages from 11 to 17 to ensure close racing.
• Trophy presentation at end of season to all athletes with reasonable attendance.
